Hotel Gambetta - Bordeaux

The hotel has a cozy atmosphere and the staff were cute and helpful .

We experienced noise from the busy street outside our room, which disturbed our sleep on several occasions.

I greatly enjoyed a good breakfast with meat and cheese, as for instance. There were warm rooms with bath and shower.

it was very central and every thing was within walking distance

you can,t buy a cup of coffee in the morning in the hotel!! and no coffee facilities in room

Good value for money, location was great in the old center and friendly staff.

The breakfast

One had to walk up stairs to first floor to get the lift which went to the third floor. This was as high as the lift went, one had to haul cases up to the fourth floor where we were staying and then down a stairs to our room.

The room was nice, but the stairs were a hassle after a long day.

The staff were mostly helpful, the design was simple but effective and the shower was good.

Close to sights & comfortable but breakfast was basic with limited choice.

I stayed for 2 nights in a Twin Room with Courtyard View, and I loved every moment! The breakfast selection was good, with fresh pastries and a variety of beverages, all managed by super attentive staff. The cleanliness of the room stood out, and I particularly appreciated the ample shower gel and toiletries provided.

Hotel Gambetta is located right in the heart of the Old Town and is easily accessible to the major sites of Bordeaux. It is also very close to the city tram network. The ability to speak a little French will help too when dealing with reception!

If you stay in summer and the weather is hot, be warned because the rooms are not air-conditioned

Super central location, close to everything; Bus Liane 1 goes from airport to Place Gambetta, only steps away from the hotel ---single fare €1.40; 24-hour reception; free internet in lounge, even if we didn't use it; were able to leave luggage in hotel after check-out; free Bordeaux street plan and shopping guide booklet available beside reception desk.

Room 48 ( 4th floor) was a very small room for 2, with a double bed, sloped ceiling made it even feel smaller, small window, not much natural light. Lots of stairs steps. A couple of the shower tiles had rust-coloured stains. Luckily, we only needed it for one night. Though rooms vary, all doubles appear to be the same price. Our particular room was not exactly good value for money.

Very central location with comfortable beds and friendly staff. Narrow corridors made navigating difficult at times.

This location is great. Close to bus, tram, taxi, eating and shopping areas. Breakfast offering was good and staff helpfull given the two star hotel rating. Multilingual staff were very much appreciated.

The single light in the ensuit could have been better. The ceiling fan in the room could have stirred the air better than it did. Room ventilation remained poor even with the windows open.

Location was perfect for weekend break and exploring the city. Reception manned most of the time which is great as we arrived late. Most main attractions right on the doorstep. Easy access to buses and trams. Plenty eating spots. Overall this is great value for money

Rooms are small but comfortable everything you would need and spotless did not find the hotel noisey in anyway
